What's new

Everything we shipped to TinyForms, newest first. New features, improvements and fixes as they went out.

Latest

A shorter link, and an address you choose

Short links now live on tfrm.be, every form’s own address is yours to edit, and a deleted answer hands a personal link back.

  • NewA form’s address is no longer whatever its title happened to be. Settings, General now carries an Address field: type the last part of the public link yourself, in lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens. A duplicate that arrived as autumn-workshop-copy can finally be called what it is. Change it on a published form and the form moves at once, so the old address stops answering along with it.
  • ImprovedThe short link is handed out on tfrm.be from now on, so tfrm.be/k7m2qpza is the whole of it on a flyer, on a badge or read out loud. Every short link shared before today keeps working exactly as it did.
  • NewPersonal links can go out short as well. In the recipient panel, pick the address this campaign hands out: the familiar tinyforms.tools/i/k7m2qpza, or tfrm.be/k7m2qpza. The list, the copy buttons, the CSV and Excel exports and the QR codes all follow your choice, the QR code gets coarser and easier to scan, and every address already printed keeps opening the same form.
  • FixedDeleting an answer, clearing a form’s answers or withdrawing a registration now hands the personal link behind it back: that recipient can fill the form in again, where their link used to show a thank-you notice and nothing else. Restoring the answer from the bin closes the link with it. Until now a link stayed shut on an answer that no longer existed, with no way to open it again.
  • FixedThe three switches under How personal links behave were not being kept: only accept answers through a personal link, one answer per link, and let recipients correct what you filled in all fell back to their default on the next save. They now stay the way you set them.
  • ImprovedThe notice a recipient opens on is yours to decide. Personal links now carries three settings for it: whether the page says who the invitation is for, whether it adds a second line under that name, and what that line says. Leave the wording empty and it stays the sentence about the answers you filled in; write your own and it is always shown, with {RECIPIENT} and your hidden columns filled in per recipient.

Cancellations, refunds and a bin

Withdraw a registration without losing the record, refund on its own, and restore a deleted response for 30 days.

  • NewCancelling a registration withdraws it without erasing it. The place it took comes free straight away, so someone else can book it and the same person can sign up again, while the record stays under Cancelled with the refund you made next to it. Months later you can still see who cancelled and what went back to them.
  • NewDeleting a response now moves it to a bin instead of erasing it. It stays there, uploaded files and all, restorable for 30 days, after which it is erased for good. Clearing a whole form works the same way, and you can empty the bin yourself whenever you want the space back.
  • NewRefunding is its own action now, separate from cancelling and deleting: send the money back through Mollie while the registration stays as it is. A refunded response is marked as such, with the amount and the date, so your list says who has been paid back.
  • FixedThe "also refund this customer" tick box did nothing when you deleted a response from the submissions list: the refund was never sent to Mollie. It worked from the response detail page only. Both now behave the same.

Personal links say when they open

The recipient panel now warns that a personal link stays closed until the form is published.

  • ImprovedA personal link opens the published form, so it answers with "page not found" while the form is still a draft. The recipient panel now says so, and the warning sits next to the print button on the QR sheet as well, so a batch of cards is not printed a day early. Publishing changes nothing about the links: an address you already sent starts working as it is.

Options that share their places

Two options can now sell the same seats, and the settings behind a question are grouped so you can read them at a glance.

  • NewOptions can now share their places. Give each date its own maximum, then let the option covering the whole series take a place at every one of them: one price for a single date, another for the series, one set of places for both.
  • NewA condition can now name several options at once. Tick bronze, silver and gold and one block covers all three, while a fourth option carries a different one. Until now that took a copy of the block per option.
  • ImprovedThe settings of a question are now split into Options, Price, Availability and Visibility. Each group says what it is set to while it is closed, and opens on its own when it is already in use, so a question with a price and a cap no longer reads as one long list.
  • ImprovedA field's help text takes bold, italic and links, the same way a text block does, so the line under a question can point at your terms or a price list instead of spelling out a web address.
  • ImprovedMoving a form to a folder and deleting it are now on the form’s own menu, next to editing, duplicating and exporting. The menu is split into three groups, so the delete no longer sits against the everyday actions. Both still work on a whole selection at once.
  • FixedThe live preview no longer scrolls away. It stays beside the field you are editing, and once the form grows taller than the screen it scrolls on its own, so the bottom of a long form is reachable again.

New question types, and a plan to match

IBAN, ranking, picture choice and time slots join the builder, and the questions that go beyond a plain form now belong to the paid plans.

  • NewA new IBAN question for bank account numbers. The check digits are verified as it is typed, so a mistyped number is caught while the person is still there to correct it, not weeks later when you are trying to pay them back.
  • NewA new ranking question: give people a list and let them put it in their order of preference. Insights shows the average place each option got, most preferred first, and the export carries the numbered order.
  • NewRadio and checkbox questions can show their options as pictures instead of rows. Prices, limits and conditions per option keep working exactly as they did.
  • NewGenerate a run of appointment slots from an opening time, a closing time and a slot length, each with its own number of places. Parents' evenings, fittings and pick-up moments, without building the list by hand.
  • NewA form can accept one answer per email address. A second answer from the same address is refused, with a message on the question itself.
  • NewEvery personal link now has a QR code. Look at one on its own, download it as an image, or print the whole campaign as a sheet of cards to cut up and hand out.
  • NewInsights shows where people stop in a multi-page form: how many reached each page, and which page loses the most. Nobody is identified, only how often a page was reached.
  • ImprovedConditional questions can now compare more than "is equal to". Text questions offer "contains" and "does not contain", and number, slider and rating questions offer "is greater than" and "is less than".
  • ImprovedIn the builder, a question whose label you have not typed yet is outlined in orange, so an unnamed question is caught while you are building instead of when a save is refused. Option labels and the fields in a repeater row work the same way.
  • ImprovedRanking, signature, IBAN, slider, rating, repeating groups and picture choice are now part of the Pro and Business plans. Forms already using them keep working, and the question types stay visible on the Free plan with the plan that unlocks them named.
  • ImprovedEvery error page is now a proper TinyForms page in your own language: a link that leads nowhere, a page you have no access to, a form left open too long, or a failure on our side. Each one names what happened and offers a way back, instead of a bare error screen.

Faster option lists, richer text and verified sign-ups

Building a choice field no longer means typing one option at a time, and long dropdowns became easier to answer.

  • NewClick the unpublished-changes badge to see exactly what publishing would change: which questions were added, removed, edited or moved, and which settings differ from the live version.
  • NewPaste a whole list of options at once. Every line becomes an option, so a list from a spreadsheet or an email is one paste away.
  • NewA dropdown can be made searchable, so respondents type a few letters instead of scrolling through a long list.
  • NewText blocks support bold, italic and links, so an explanation can point somewhere without showing a bare web address.
  • NewBlocks on the thank-you page can be shown conditionally, so what someone reads afterwards can depend on what they answered.
  • NewNew accounts confirm their email address before they start, and sign-ups that are never confirmed are cleaned up on their own.
  • ImprovedOptions can be reordered by dragging them, and a field that carries a price now says so at a glance.
  • ImprovedThe price setting explains itself on a form that does not collect payment yet, instead of quietly doing nothing.
  • FixedA field card only folds shut when you click its title bar, not when you use a dropdown inside it.

Prices on more fields, and settings that save in one go

Paid forms got more flexible, and the workspace settings stopped asking to be saved in pieces.

  • NewNumber and slider fields can carry a price, so a quantity multiplies into the total.
  • NewDuplicate a field with all of its settings, options and prices intact.
  • NewThe payment description is previewed exactly as the payer will read it on their bank statement.
  • ImprovedThe whole workspace settings page saves with one button, payment and captcha keys included.
  • ImprovedThe page header stays in reach while you scroll through a long form.
  • FixedRenaming a form keeps you in the editor instead of sending you back to the list.
  • FixedThe running payment total is right in the builder preview as well as on the real form.

Personal links that fill the form in for you

An invitation can carry more than a name: it can prefill text and decide which options a recipient sees.

  • NewA personal link can fill in the text of the form it opens, so a recipient does not retype what you already know.
  • NewA choice field can take its options from the personal link, so every recipient sees only what applies to them.
  • NewThe blank form sits in the template gallery, so starting from scratch is one of the choices rather than a separate route.
  • NewOwners can delete a workspace and you can delete your own account, with a 30-day window before anything is erased for good.
  • ImprovedEvery preview shows the form respondents actually get, including its payment, language and branding.
  • FixedRepeater fields are workable again and their error messages are legible.
  • FixedDeleting a form or a workspace hands its address back, so the name is free to use again straight away.

Yearly plans, and downgrades that wait for the right moment

Billing got a yearly option and stopped taking away what you already paid for.

  • NewPlans can be paid yearly, which costs less than twelve monthly payments.
  • NewMoving to a smaller plan takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for, instead of immediately.
  • ImprovedThe payment settings link straight to the article that explains where to find your API key.
  • FixedA form that only charges through option prices counts as collecting payment, so it is checked and reported like any other paid form.

One form address per recipient

Personal links turn a form into a set of individual invitations you can follow up on, on the Business plan.

  • NewGive every recipient their own address for the same form, so a printed invitation opens a form that already knows who is holding it.
  • NewAdd recipients by hand or import them, edit them afterwards, and download an example list to start from.
  • NewWhatever a personal link carries is stored with the submission and shown in the submission drawer.
  • NewThe public site shows the product itself: screenshots and short recordings on the pages that explain them.
  • ImprovedThe submissions table drops the columns a form does not use, such as payment status on a form that charges nothing.
  • FixedAnswers stay readable after the field that collected them has been removed from the form.
  • FixedYes/no answers are shown truthfully, in the language of the form.

A template library, embedding and short links

Three ways to get a form in front of people: start from a template, put it on your own site, or share a short link.

  • NewA library of ready-made forms you can copy into your workspace and adjust, filtered by category and searchable.
  • NewEmbed a form in your own website instead of linking away to it.
  • NewEvery form has a short share link, which keeps prefilled values intact.
  • NewSend respondents to a page of your own after they submit, instead of to the thank-you page.
  • NewThe public site is available and findable in English, Dutch, French and German.
  • ImprovedWhen a form outgrows its plan, the message names the plan and the limit instead of failing vaguely.

See what your plan unlocks

Features your plan does not include are visible and locked rather than missing, so you can see what you would be getting.

  • NewSearch your forms and folders from the forms page.
  • NewThe payment settings explain how to make a test payment before you go live.
  • ImprovedPlan-gated features are shown locked instead of hidden, alongside the plan that unlocks them.
  • ImprovedPayment settings stay visible on the free plan, so you can see what setting them up would involve.
  • FixedPlan prices match the billing catalogue everywhere they are shown.

A plan per workspace, and a help centre in four languages

TinyForms got its billing, its legal pages and its documentation.

  • NewA help centre with guides for every part of the product, in four languages.
  • NewA contact page, for the questions the help centre does not answer.
  • NewEvery workspace has its own plan, with its own limits on forms, submissions, members and storage.
  • NewPaid plans through Paddle, including a trial period and invoices.
  • NewTerms of service, privacy policy and refund policy, translated per language.
  • NewEach form can carry its own privacy policy, with its retention period and a link in the form's footer.
  • NewA free account can own up to three workspaces.
  • ImprovedPublishing separates what a form's status is from what you can do about it.
  • ImprovedSubmissions and insights are tabs in the form editor rather than pages of their own.

Repeaters, refunds and limits per option

Registration forms got the pieces they were missing: repeatable groups, capacity per option and a way back out of a paid submission.

  • NewA repeater field for repeatable groups, such as one row per child or per team member.
  • NewGive each option its own capacity, and word what a full option says yourself.
  • NewRefund the Mollie payment when you delete a paid submission.
  • NewDeleting a field can be undone from the message that follows it.
  • NewAutomatic deletion of submissions can be switched off, with a warning about what that means under the GDPR.
  • ImprovedThe thank-you page matches the form's own card, branding included.

Multi-step forms, spam protection and a lot of new fields

The builder grew from a list of text fields into something you can build a real registration with.

  • NewSplit a long form into steps with a page break, with a progress indicator for respondents.
  • NewTwo layers of spam protection: an invisible honeypot with a time trap, and Cloudflare Turnstile when you want a captcha.
  • NewNew field types: rating, signature, slider, file upload, consent checkbox, yes/no toggle, time, date and time, web address, and grouped fields for a name or an address.
  • NewNew layout items: video embed, spacer and divider.
  • NewExport a form to a file and import it back, into the same workspace or another one.
  • NewChoose your payment provider per workspace and store your own credentials.

Four languages, insights and submissions you can work with

The interface learned to speak four languages, and the answers you collect became something you can read at a glance.

  • NewThe interface is available in English, Dutch, French and German, and every form has a language of its own.
  • NewAn insights tab that adds up the answers across all submissions of a form.
  • NewA logo and a header image per workspace, which each form can inherit, override or hide.
  • NewClose a form automatically on a date, and offer a waiting list once it is full.
  • NewChecks before publishing that catch the mistakes that would otherwise reach respondents.
  • NewAn email to you on every new submission.
  • NewA confirmation email to the person who submitted, at the address they filled in.
  • NewSearch and filter submissions, and export exactly what you filtered.
  • NewOrganise forms into folders.
